HOW TO USE:

• Furacilin® is used externally, in the form of an aqueous 0.02% (1:5000) solution. To prepare an aqueous solution, dissolve 1 tablet in 100 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution or distilled water (use hot water for quick dissolution). After this, cool the solution to room temperature and store for a long time (sterilization for 30 minutes at 100 °C)


• Mouth and throat rinse: 20 mg (1 tablet) dissolved in 100 ml of hot water


• For purulent wounds, bedsores, ulcerative lesions, II and III degree burns, to prepare the granulating surface for skin grafting and for the secondary suture, irrigate the wound with an aqueous solution of Furacillin and apply wet bandages


• After surgery for osteomyelitis, rinse the cavity with an aqueous solution of Furacillin, and then apply a wet bandage


• In case of pleural empyema, suck out the pus and rinse the pleural cavity using the generally accepted method. Then inject 20–100 ml of an aqueous solution of the drug into the pleural cavity


• In case of anaerobic infection after standard surgery, the wound should also be treated with Furacilin


• For chronic purulent otitis, apply 8-10 drops of an aqueous solution of Furacillin to a cotton swab or turunda and insert into the external auditory canal 2 times a day. The solution should first be warmed to body temperature


• There is no experience with the use of the drug in children (under 18 years of age), so it should not be prescribed to patients in this age category
