Fluxen – Helps improve mood, relieves feelings of fear and tension, and alleviates dysphoria.

Uses:

• Major depressive episodes/disorders


• Obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD)


• Nervous bulimia – as part of complex psychotherapy to reduce uncontrolled food intake and induce bowel cleansing

Directions:

• Depression: Initial adult dose is 20 mg once daily in the morning. If needed, the dose can be gradually increased up to 60 mg/day, but higher doses may cause more side effects. Treatment should continue for at least 6 months.


• OCD: Usual dose is 20 mg/day. If no response within 2 weeks, the dose can be increased up to 60 mg/day. Long-term therapy beyond 24 weeks has not been studied.


• Bulimia Nervosa: 20 mg/day for adults and elderly patients. Long-term therapy beyond 3 months has not been studied.


• General recommendations: Usual dose is 20 mg/day. Maximum daily dose is 80 mg. May be taken once or twice daily, with or without food. Dosage should be adjusted for patients with renal/hepatic impairment or the elderly.
