Flavamed® Forte — a cough medicine for children and adults. The active substance is ambroxol, which enhances mucus production and promotes its clearance from the respiratory tract. It should not be used together with cough suppressants without medical advice, as this may lead to excessive accumulation of mucus in the bronchi.

Uses: Secretolytic therapy for acute and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases associated with impaired bronchial secretion and weakened mucus transport.

Directions: Unless otherwise prescribed, the following dosage regimen is recommended for Flavamed® Forte:

• Children under 2 years: 1.25 ml (¼ measuring spoon) twice daily (15 mg ambroxol hydrochloride per day)


• Children 2–5 years: 1.25 ml three times daily (22.5 mg/day)


• Children 6–12 years: 2.5 ml (½ spoon) 2–3 times daily (30–45 mg/day)


• Adults and children over 12: 5 ml (1 spoon) 3 times daily for the first 2–3 days (90 mg/day), then 5 ml twice daily (60 mg/day). If needed, the dose may be increased to 10 ml twice daily (120 mg/day)

Ingredients:

Active ingredients: ambroxol hydrochloride — 30 mg per 5 ml oral solution.

Excipients: benzoic acid (E 210), glycerol (85%), sorbitol solution (non-crystallizing, E 420), hydroxyethylcellulose, purified water, raspberry flavor No. 516028.
