Flavamed — a cough medication suitable for both children and adults. The product is based on the active ingredient ambroxol, which promotes the production of mucus and facilitates its clearance. Therefore, Flavamed should not be used together with cough suppressants without medical advice, as this could lead to mucus accumulation in the lungs.

Uses: Secretolytic therapy for acute and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases associated with impaired bronchial secretion and weakened mucus clearance.

Directions: If not otherwise prescribed, the following dosages are recommended for Flavamed® oral solution:

• Children under 2 years: 2.5 ml twice daily (15 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day)


• Children aged 2–5 years: 2.5 ml three times daily (22.5 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day)


• Children aged 6–12 years: 5 ml two to three times daily (30–45 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day)


• Adults and children over 12 years: 10 ml three times daily for 2–3 days (90 mg/day), then 10 ml twice daily (60 mg/day); if needed, up to 20 ml twice daily (120 mg/day)

Ingredients:

Active ingredients: Ambroxol hydrochloride — 3 mg/ml (15 mg per 5 ml dose)

Excipients: Glycerin (85%), benzoic acid (E210), non-crystallizing sorbitol solution 70% (E420), hydroxyethylcellulose, raspberry flavor concentrate, purified water.
