Dimexide is a topical solution with anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, analgesic, decongestant, and resorptive properties. It is used both as a standalone medication and as a carrier to enhance the absorption of other drugs through the skin, improving their therapeutic effect in inflamed areas.

Uses:

• Rheumatoid arthritis


• Ankylosing spondylitis (Bechterew’s disease)


• Deforming osteoarthritis with periarticular tissue involvement


• Traumatic infiltrates, sprains, bruises, abscesses, and purulent wounds

Directions:

• Apply externally as compresses or tampon applications using 30–50% aqueous solutions


• Soak gauze pads in solution and apply to affected area for 20–30 minutes, once daily


• For streptodermas, use 40–90% solution; for purulent skin conditions, use 40% solution


• In plastic surgery, apply 10–20% solution to grafts immediately post-operation and in the following days until stable engraftment
