Dimexide is a topical solution with anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, analgesic, and anti-edema properties. It effectively relieves pain in muscles, joints, back, and soft tissue injuries such as bruises and sprains. Additionally, it acts as a carrier to enhance the absorption of other medications through the skin, facilitating their deeper penetration into inflamed tissues.

Uses:

• Inflammatory conditions of the musculoskeletal system (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis with periarticular tissue involvement)


• Soft tissue injuries: sprains, bruises, traumatic infiltrates


• Skin infections and wounds: streptoderma, purulent wounds, abscesses, osteomyelitis


• Plastic surgery: skin graft integration and preservation

Directions:

• Apply as a 30–50% aqueous solution for compresses or tampons once daily for 20–30 minutes


• Use sterile gauze soaked in solution, covering both the affected and surrounding healthy skin


• In streptoderma: use 40–90% solution for compresses


• In skin grafting: use 10–20% solution on grafts immediately post-surgery and during the healing period; for graft storage, use 5% solution in Ringer’s solution
